Editorial and review policy
How the processing rules and guides are written, reviewed and corrected.
Checking the processing rules
The aspect-ratio and reduction formulas are shown on each work page. Automated tests check the limits (20 MB, 20 megapixels, 8,192 px), damaged and unsupported files, and that the ratio error stays within rounding across thousands of random sizes. The format and size of files produced in a real browser are checked before each release.
Writing and reviewing guides
The size examples in the guides are generated by the same code as the tools, so the text and the tools cannot disagree. AI tools are used for drafting, translation and checking against official sources; the English guides are rewritten for English readers rather than translated word for word. Only guides the operator has finally checked are published, with their review date. Unreviewed drafts are not published.
Sources
Browser behaviour is linked to official documentation such as MDN. Photo requirements differ between organisations, so they are never stated as fact; readers are asked to check each organisation’s own instructions.
Corrections
When an error in a calculation or explanation is found, it is fixed first; if the fix changes results, the change and its date are noted on the page.
